Smooth Are The Waters Of The Brook That Runs Deep

Smooth are the waters of the brook that runs deep
Yo
u'd think it'd drown the blind
As they all sleep.
As the waves of justice fall upon them,
You won't hear a peep
Though they lick their wounds,
They seep, they seep.
A drowning man will clutch a straw
And at the hems of mercy, as she withdraws
Unbroken is all natural law
As Nemesis reigns her fists upon mankind's jaw.
Many a warning, they did not heed
And so they continued, with many a needless deed
No God, no Goddess, ever did mislead
Of their own devices did man proceed.
A gold key can open any door
Until their soulless bodies can stand no more.
They vaguely consider the warnings they chose to ignore
As their lifeless corpses wash ashore.
A poor workman always blames his tools
But the entire ship,
Is a ship of fools.
All that glitters is not gold
It catches our eye and turns to mold
All of this has been foretold
The consequences of our actions will be twofold.
An ounce of prevention, is worth two pounds of cure
Once you are done, your heart is impure
You rot in your filth, alone and unsure
Reaching for light, far away and obscure.
Any port in a storm
Just to stay warm
Far away from the norm
You've been misinformed.
Ask no questions, hear no lies
Your path in life is so unwise
But the blind cannot give the blind advice
So if you start to drown, just improvise.
Attack is the best form of defense
So leave behind your common sense
The price you pay is immense,
But you'll wield the darkness at the light's expense.

I would love to write something like that now. You did an amazing job and given us something deep to revel on. We surely need to use common sense, open our inner eyes and see the light to live a better life. Thank you.
